Pastor Alex Bunion has served as the Pastor at the Church At Pine Hill since January 28, 2001. Pastor Bunion is a native of Havana, Florida. He has resided in Valdosta, Georgia since October 1984.
Pastor Bunion attended Florida A&M University, where he met and later married his beloved wife, Vera E. Crawford Bunion. The Bunions were married on December 21, 1985.
Pastor Bunion was ordained as a deacon on April 18, 1993. After seven faithful years as an ordain deacon at Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church, God called Pastor Bunion to a higher calling and he was licensed as a Minster of the Gospel on June 20, 1999. On August 20, 2000, Pastor Bunion was ordained to a higher calling and was appointed to and consecrated as Pastor of The Church At Pine Hill on January 28, 2001.
A man of great character, integrity, and wisdom, Pastor Bunion’s consistent obedience to God has taken the membership of the Church At Pine Hill from two to 450 of us who enjoy a wall-less church where Christ is all, love is law, and everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
As a proclaimed teacher and preacher, Pastor Bunion is driven by a sacred devotion to share his conviction of Christ and fulfill the mandate of Jesus, to “use the keys of the kingdom of heaven…” It is this devotion that has made the areas of Christian education, combined with application of scripture, the focal points of his ministry. His anointed and skillful exegetical handling of the scriptures, alone with his personal and down to earth approach to the Gospel has drawn followers locally and abroad through his weekly livestream.
Dealing with difficult, critical, and crucial issues of these troubled times is at the center of each and every one of his messages, while at the same time keeping God’s Word unbroken and undivided. It is through this challenge that he seeks to encourage his flock of listeners to “hear the voice of God and ECHO his sound.” With 21 years of Pastoring, Pastor Bunion brings balance to an ever-changing culture of Christendom. During his tenure the membership has increased significantly that in 2011 a new addition was added to the existing edifice. Weekly the sanctuary is filled with people who come to be invigorated and transformed by the uniquely powerful preaching of this awesome man of God.
